When COVID-19 hit in 2020, we had to isolate ourselves, so I bought 90 meters of gray covering paper, which I used to paint pictures on—for the first time on PAPER in many years. My work quickly divided into two paths: figurative and abstract. The gray paper was replaced with white. The figurative paper paintings became the exhibition ‘Arcadia, Land of Rock Paths,’ which was shown here at STADENS MUSEUM in 2022. This exhibition featured Altre til Spinozas gud (Altars to Spinoza's God) or Altre for Naturen (Altars for Nature), inspired by a youth expedition to the Hindu Kush mountains between India and Afghanistan – and by the pristine nature and animistic population I had the pleasure of encountering there. The second path, the abstract one, is the one you see here. The abstract forms slide around on a coordinate system. Hence the name ‘Coordinate Works’. Erik Sløjfebinder surprised me by inviting me to be a guest at this exhibition. We are old friends and have exhibited together several times in the past. Our last exhibition was called ‘Life is the World’ / ‘MATH ART’.
