Live Life Artistically is an exhibition of Christiania's legendary plein air painter Henrik Schütze (b. 1951) – known in the city as Henrik Fakir. It is a solo exhibition that relates to the category of plein air painting, which goes back to French Impressionism, where it denotes paintings painted outdoors directly in front of the subject. The paintings in the exhibition are not necessarily painted at Christiania, and they do not necessarily represent nature, they originate, for example, from the lecture series Science and Cocktails. But they are landscape paintings in the sense that they are based on the lived life seen through the artist's gaze. At this exhibition, Schütze shows, among other things, his impressions from California, Saint Petersburg, Paris, Yazd in central Iran and
Italy.

The exhibition Live Life Artistically will, by virtue of its location at the City's Museum of Art, be in interaction with the Fristaden, free-minded, freedom-seeking, curious and not least the free wilderness that reigns here. The Christiania artist's gaze and the surroundings will thus blend into the exhibition, and help convey the works in ways that cannot be fully predicted or controlled.
