André Moulin in the Gallopperiet on 1 – 22 July 2017. Varnishing on 1 July at 15-19
André Moulin with the stage name Miller is a self-taught visual artist and has been painting since 1989. He quit his job in 1996 to have more time to paint, but unexpectedly it developed with good response and exhibitions, and he chose to continue. Since then, he has developed a visual style and has had the opportunity to use his creativity in several ways. Since 1999, he has done a number of workshops and published a book on serigraphy, received a cultural award for his activities for children & young people, made a cinema film and collaborated with a rock band.
In his visual art, he has worked with screen printing (also called silk printing) since 2007, and examples are shown with prints on canvas, cardboard, paper, stone, textile, etc. In addition, he works with oil-based alkyd paint, which became known with Jackson Pollock's "drip-painting" in New York around 1950, and André uses this paint on canvas and other materials, e.g. on the ceramics on display.
The exhibition includes:
Paintings with screen printing and various motifs from DK and abroad. Paintings with oil-based alkyd paint and various mixed media. Decorated flagstones with acrylic paint and screen printing, with motifs from Christiania, Copenhagen and abroad. Two framed paper prints, and a large selection of unframed paper prints with screen printing. Handmade ceramic jugs, with oil-based alkyd paint. Chair and stools with screen printing. Clothes and textiles with screen printing. Pap-Art, cardboard pieces with paint residues, acrylic paint and wild serigraph prints for DKK 40.
Several of the paintings are set at a very good price, and there is plenty of art for under DKK 500.
Welcome to vernising in the Gallopperiet at Christiania (Copenhagen), just to the right of the main entrance.
