THE BODY IN THE CITY The art team from Kofoed School is exhibiting

How do you meet the city , and how does your body meet the city? Every day we move around the city between each other. We are fascinated, surprised, perhaps repulsed by the scenes unfolding before our eyes. Shows. At the same time, we are present with our bodies in the city, sweating, freezing, smelling, pushing, dancing and running. Bodies that are often close to each other, and create feelings ranging from pleasure to indifference to discomfort. What is our relationship with our own body and with that of others?

The body in the city is the title of the art exhibition , which can be experienced in the Galloperiet in Christiania from Saturday 3 November. It is the Art Team from Kofoeds Skole that is behind the exhibition, after having worked with the theme for a long time. The art team is a group of painters, each with their own style and way of conveying their thoughts and experiences of body and city. The paintings tell stories about the artists' experience and attempts to maintain and develop the two dimensions, body and city. At the same time, they are also a picture of the desire and joy of painting.

The emotions of the city

The city can be seductive, adventurous and exciting and you can be taken by the city, you can experience yourself floating and light in your body. You can also experience that the city can be repulsive and dangerous, that it almost rapes you, that you are forced into a corner where it physically affects the body.

The art team from Kofoeds Skole has previously established large exhibitions. In 2011, they were part of an exhibition of more than 250 works at Copenhagen City Hall. The exhibition was inspired by Picasso and also included ceramics, graphics and sculptures. Now they are ready with an exhibition of new works at Stadens Museum for Kunst.
